Brushing your teeth is extremely important for the health of your gums, teeth, and even plays a role in the health of your whole body. While the practice is now quite common, would you be surprised to learn that there are a few things many of us could do better when it comes to brushing?
For instance, did you know that the type of toothbrush you use can actually have a great impact your oral health? If you brush too hard or if you have a brush with stiff bristles, you could be unintentionally damaging your smile. We recommend using a brush with soft bristles and using gentle, circular motions while brushing.
It’s also important that you brush at the right time. You see, if you brush right after you eat, you could actually damage your teeth. You see, after you eat your enamel can be softened, especially if you have consumed anything acidic. You should wait for at least 30 minutes after you eat so that your enamel can harden again.
Please remember that brushing alone won’t be enough to keep your smile as clean and healthy as it should be. You should also floss at least once a day, and pay a visit to our dentist once every six months for a routine cleaning if you’re interested in keeping your teeth healthy and strong.
